Life Experiences
Today has been a fantastic today for me and my church! , I was the one assigned to prepare an exhortation about father’s day and i was really excited as one of our youth leader again I had the chance to be able to stand up there on the pulpit and share the good news to all those who are hungry.

I prepared a very simple message for our fathers entitled:

What should a father be?

Where I used Joshua 24:15 as my text

Joshua 24:15 (New International Version)

15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”

Every family has its own father , a father that is very strict, someone that is industrious, laid back, someone that likes to joke, etc. but this differences in personality is what makes them perfect for each family because God has carefully picked our fathers because He knows that this person who happens to be your father will be the perfect guy for the job because He knows that guy can do whatever task is at hand and can bring his family to God.

1. A Loving Husband
Husbands should show more compassion and affection to their wives and do you know the Bible almost never says that wives should love their husband as it comes naturally for them and most of the times the Bible only mentions wives to respect their husbands because there would be times that wives forget to respect them as the head the family, it is written on Ephesians 5:28

Ephesians 5:28 “So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies, He who loves his own wife loves himself.”

God has commanded husbands to love their wives as they love their own bodies and it is our responsibility to give the love back that our wives deserve and we should fear the consequences of not following what God has commanded us, If fathers want to teach their children to love their future wives they should show it to them because children will acknowledge what you do as right and in time when they have families they would do what they saw in you if you have physically or verbally abused their mothers they will do that to because they saw you doing it. Fathers should be very careful on their actions in front of their children if they really want to raise them up in such a way they can be proud of them.

2. A Guiding Father

God has entrusted fathers children they should take care of, God has given each and every father out there the responsibility of raising up a child that is worthy in front of God when we present them to Him, We as fathers have that responsibility to teach our children what is the right to do in different situations but in teaching our children we must not use our authority as parents in a way we will hurt them because the bible says in Col. 3:21

Colossians 3:21 “Father’s do not make your children resentful or they will be discouraged ”

the Bible says that in teaching our children we must be careful on our methods because if by any chance we use fear to teach them and they will feel resentful because of what you did they will be discourage and instead of doing that right thing they will do something that you wouldn’t like and as parents we should instill core values to our children just like what Proverbs 22:6 says Train up a child in the way he should go and he will not depart from it, if fathers as parents will train their children in the right way and be a living example to them even in their latter years they will do what they saw in you.

3. An example to his family

Fathers should be an example to their family where they should be the ones who are leading the prayers because we should be like Job in Job 1:5 where he would go up early in the morning to pray for his children he wants God to secure them from any harm , Fathers should be the one who are teaching their families the word of God and he should be the one who wakes up ahead of his family and be an example to them that attending every sunday is a must and lastly a father should be an example to his family on how to lead because as fathers and leaders of our home they must show the resilience in every situation facing every task courageously without fear because ahead of time they already prayed that God would be their strength and He will be the one who will handle everything.

To Read To Watch

There has been a war between these two since they were introduced to us many of parents have struggled between these two habits because several reasons but first we should try to differentiate them.

Reading a part of every person’s life and playing a very vital role in every human because without having the ability to read we cannot know where to go, we cannot determine prices of the goods we are buying, we cannot follow manuals, renders us basically crippled because reading is one important aspect of our daily life and we always use it to continue the way we live but there are some people who are not using reading the proper way where in they do read something but the sad part is there reading has nothing to do with their improvement even if their reading they really don’t get anything from it and just wasting their time reading stuff that wouldn’t help them at all like porn , scandals, etc. , Though this is truly a great skill everyone should master only few put these skill to great practice and most neglect because they say reading is boring but in fact reading stimulates the mind and develops it more and makes you a better person, it enhances your imagination because as you read you will imagine what you are reading to further improve your comprehension level and I am a witness to that a couple of years back though I have always knew myself to be a fast reader I really don’t like reading that much and bores me a lot but I came to a realization that reading really do you better than doing other things because in reading you are maintaining your mind to be fully functional and creative and improves your thinking ability to comprehend instructions.

Watching which utilizes our vision and hearing is another form to stimulate our mind and practice because by watching we can learn a lot of things and we can think critically specially if we learn how to criticize and we practice our observing skills we need to properly observe and focus ourselves if we want to maximize our watching but watching is something a lot of parents hate because their kids doesn’t really do anything but watch shows which do not teach them anything and our just there for the sake of fun which should not be the case we should be watching to learn new things and not to just watch and accept what it says you should be critical in what you are watching and learn to think about what you are watching.

These two skills are really great gifts but we need to use them wisely or else they wouldn’t be anything special because there capabilities are just put to waste and not maximized and know how to balance your time between watching and reading and make sure when you read or watch you get something out it worth it.

First Day of school is done and I’m so excited about my subjects all of them are quite challenging and would really want to learn all of them and master them all if possible but there is still a lot of tasks ahead for me like every week I have to prepare messages I can share to the youth at our church and I need to research how can we improve sunday school at our church since we are the ones who are leading. There are so many things ahead and I hope and pray I can do all of my goals because there would be so much to do and don’t know where to start and time management is really vital and I hope I can manage my time correctly knowing that I’m not really good at it.
