Today I went to our regular saturday fellowship at our church and our topic was all about faith, so to sum it all up the speaker talk about every aspect of faith starting from what faith is up to what can faith do to us if we have faith on Jesus Christ, and I as one of the leaders was very much inspired to reiterate the topic in a different manner .

Around the world one of  the most known persons is Michael Jordan the legend from the Chicago Bulls who brought a lot rings to the franchise, even people who are not a fan of basketball know the greatness of Michael Jordan in the world of basketball yet a lot of people don’t know the history behind the greatness of Michael Jordan , A couple of weeks ago Michael was inducted into the hall of fame along with David Robinson, John Stockton, etc. and I read an article about the history of Jordan during the time of his high school days where in he was not accepted into the high school basketball team because the team already had so much guards already and the team desperately needs height so to sum it up Jordan didn’t make the cut but that didn’t stop Jordan from becoming the best player ever to play the game and used this situation to prove every one that he can be someone they didn’t think he was , in short he had faith in himself and he didn’t stop by just having faith what he did was he practiced, he worked out, he did everything what should be done to be the best player ,he made his dream come true by making steps to achieve it.

Jordan accepted the pressure to be the play maker when it comes to crunch time, everybody in the stadium watching him , phil jackson always had faith in Jordan to do the right thing just like our christian life God would only entrust as to be the play maker at crunch time if we would work and do everything to prove to Him that we are worthy to be entrusted .

God will not give us blessings that we are not even worthy of, we need to prove that we are able to handle these blessings and we will do the right thing and not screw up.

In summary first we need to have the faith because if we do not believe we can never achieve if we don’t believe in our capabilities and lastly we need to do something about our faith because our faith is not enough we need to work.

Happy Father’s Day

Life Experiences
Today has been a fantastic today for me and my church! , I was the one assigned to prepare an exhortation about father’s day and i was really excited as one of our youth leader again I had the chance to be able to stand up there on the pulpit and share the good news to all those who are hungry.

I prepared a very simple message for our fathers entitled:

What should a father be?

Where I used Joshua 24:15 as my text

Joshua 24:15 (New International Version)

15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”

Every family has its own father , a father that is very strict, someone that is industrious, laid back, someone that likes to joke, etc. but this differences in personality is what makes them perfect for each family because God has carefully picked our fathers because He knows that this person who happens to be your father will be the perfect guy for the job because He knows that guy can do whatever task is at hand and can bring his family to God.

1. A Loving Husband
Husbands should show more compassion and affection to their wives and do you know the Bible almost never says that wives should love their husband as it comes naturally for them and most of the times the Bible only mentions wives to respect their husbands because there would be times that wives forget to respect them as the head the family, it is written on Ephesians 5:28

Ephesians 5:28 “So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies, He who loves his own wife loves himself.”

God has commanded husbands to love their wives as they love their own bodies and it is our responsibility to give the love back that our wives deserve and we should fear the consequences of not following what God has commanded us, If fathers want to teach their children to love their future wives they should show it to them because children will acknowledge what you do as right and in time when they have families they would do what they saw in you if you have physically or verbally abused their mothers they will do that to because they saw you doing it. Fathers should be very careful on their actions in front of their children if they really want to raise them up in such a way they can be proud of them.

2. A Guiding Father

God has entrusted fathers children they should take care of, God has given each and every father out there the responsibility of raising up a child that is worthy in front of God when we present them to Him, We as fathers have that responsibility to teach our children what is the right to do in different situations but in teaching our children we must not use our authority as parents in a way we will hurt them because the bible says in Col. 3:21

Colossians 3:21 “Father’s do not make your children resentful or they will be discouraged ”

the Bible says that in teaching our children we must be careful on our methods because if by any chance we use fear to teach them and they will feel resentful because of what you did they will be discourage and instead of doing that right thing they will do something that you wouldn’t like and as parents we should instill core values to our children just like what Proverbs 22:6 says Train up a child in the way he should go and he will not depart from it, if fathers as parents will train their children in the right way and be a living example to them even in their latter years they will do what they saw in you.

3. An example to his family

Fathers should be an example to their family where they should be the ones who are leading the prayers because we should be like Job in Job 1:5 where he would go up early in the morning to pray for his children he wants God to secure them from any harm , Fathers should be the one who are teaching their families the word of God and he should be the one who wakes up ahead of his family and be an example to them that attending every sunday is a must and lastly a father should be an example to his family on how to lead because as fathers and leaders of our home they must show the resilience in every situation facing every task courageously without fear because ahead of time they already prayed that God would be their strength and He will be the one who will handle everything.
